New York—August 31, 2026—Brithem LLP announced today that it has named Tyler Purinton a partner at the firm, effective immediately. With this promotion, Tyler becomes the first attorney that Brithem has elevated to partner since the firm’s launch nearly a year ago.

Tyler joined Brithem at its launch after working with the firm’s founders for many years, following their recruitment of him to their prior firm from Cravath, Swaine & Moore. He has served on multiple trial teams with the founders, including securing a favorable jury verdict for the Pershing Square Foundation in a multimillion-dollar dispute over withheld insurance coverage, with Bill Ackman testifying as the foundation’s star witness. He is currently leading trial preparation for another case set to go to trial later this year.

Tyler has handled a variety of complex commercial disputes in state and federal courts, at both the trial and appellate level, as well as JAMS arbitration and mediation proceedings. His cases have spanned antitrust, breach of contract, M&A, and mass torts litigation, and he has also represented parties in government investigations. In one such notable matter, he played a role in a historic civil rights and RICO action brought on behalf of the largest Black-owned asset manager in New Jersey, challenging systemic racism in the state’s selection and allocation of capital to outside asset managers.
Tyler graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center, where he served as executive editor of The Georgetown Law Journal and was a member of Georgetown’s Appellate Courts Immersion Clinic. He earned his B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Vermont.
