New York—July 13, 2026—Jaime Fried, a commercial litigator with a track record spanning complex business disputes and real estate matters, has joined Brithem LLP as counsel. She arrives from Debevoise & Plimpton, where she practiced in the firm’s Litigation Department for seven years.
Jaime’s practice covers high-stakes commercial litigation from early case strategy through appeal, with a caseload that includes merger challenges, employment actions, and contractual disputes. She has also built a robust real estate practice, advising clients on pre-litigation strategy and representing them in active litigation once a matter reaches court. Her client base spans real estate, financial, technology, healthcare, insurance, legal, and pharma, ranging from emerging businesses to established market leaders.

Among her notable matters, Jaime represented Gramercy Funds Management as a judgment creditor of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, working to enforce litigation awards through the sale of U.S. holdings tied to Venezuela’s state-owned oil company. She also represented a group of University of Florida professors in a First Amendment challenge against university leadership, helping secure a preliminary injunction that struck down a policy barring faculty from serving as expert witnesses whose views conflicted with the administration’s positions.

Earlier in her career, Jaime clerked for the Hon. Stanley Marcus of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and received her J.D., summa cum laude, from Brooklyn Law School, where she was valedictorian of her class and served as executive articles editor of the Brooklyn Law Review.
